Two houses, two ideas of simplicity and authenticity

Located in Varaire, a charming and discreet village in the heart of the Causse de Limogne, our charming old farmhouse consists of two renovated houses with a certain idea of autonomy and ecology: water filtration plant, rainwater harvesting for the garden and swimming pool, solar power plant, selective waste sorting, vegetable garden, compost and dry toilets.

Our main house is a welcoming place where you can rest and recharge in the room of your choice, according to your needs (see our specific offers for "pilgrim accommodations" and "Bed and Breakfast"). The swimming pool, open and accessible under certain conditions, is also a good reason to unpack your backpack with us.

Varaire, a historic stop on the Way of St. James

Between Cajarc (27 km) and Cahors (33 km), the GR®65 crosses this village and has welcomed pilgrims since the 90s. "For a long time, it was the only stop between Cajarc and Laburgade," as the pilgrim guide Miam Miam Dodo specifies. You're now only 1208 km from Santiago de Compostela! Besides its pretty dry stone walls, its wash house with butterfly-shaped stones, and its dolmens, you'll find a real village atmosphere with a general store open 6 days a week, the only one available until Cahors. The GR®36 and GR®46 long-distance hiking trails also pass through the village. Be careful not to get lost!
